In the Fall of 2022, we added two new schools to our local feeding ministry. Both Boulevard Heights and Jo Kelly will receive “backpacks” – identical to the bags we send to the Como Community Center. Every week, Boulevard Heights receives 75 bags. Jo Kelly receives 25.
Boulevard Heights serves students with mental and developmental disabilities, many of whom live in group homes. The bags are stored in the classrooms, which gives students an opportunity to independently have a snack when needed. Jo Kelly serves medically complex students, many of whom are fed with g-tubes. The bags are sent home with these students and serve their hungry siblings.
